Okay so before I get lost in the world of 3D, I thought I should post a little about my skills and knowledge. I first began modelling properly in the second year of university, at Futureworks. Although in my first year I did attempt some Nurb modelling... it did not go too well looking back :P
Anyway In my second year I had a great tutor, Ken Lau, who taught me everything I needed to know for 3DS Max, from modelling to rigging, animation and rendering. I then went on to intergrate Zbrush into my work methods too, this was in order to create Normals and textures. The thing was though, He saw something in me, he gave my my first professional gig when It comes to 3D modelling which will you can find in my Showcase page!
After university and once I was motivated once again, I then began looking into Maya, after all, its good to have multiple 3D programs under ones belt, plus more gaming industries use this, so it wont hurt to educate myself!! I taught myself this while at sony, and I impressed some guys so now I have my second professional gig, I am the 3D art directer for an indie games company!
So, with this, I have now gone on to learn Zbrush in more detail, I have invested some money into this too, so I can truly become a master at modelling. Right now I am building my office, I have bought a ton of reference material, and since I am going to be using Zbrush a hell of a lot now, I have also bought myself a Wacom Cintiq. I am really looking forward to getting started!!
