Okay, So here is some of the latest work I have worked on, the cars interior. now, its a little more extensive that I first thought but It is certainly paying off. After studying reference images, this is my result.
So for the past few days I haven't really had the chance to sit down and plough forward with a long modelling session, so I have just been doing the odd bits here and there when I could. Anyway here are my results so far, My major concentrations has to prep the body so that the wheels will have somewhere to go. So using the reference images and online resources, I have created the correct cut outs for the suspension and axles.
I think I will next work on the interior of the vehicle since I have come across some really good reference images, and not only this is fairly simple so I shouldn't take too long to achieve. the chair may be the most time consuming really. Enough talk, here is the work so far! I have now spent this evening creating the rear of the car, Not only this I have now created the wholes needed for the air vents and the exhaust outlet.
Wow, I haven't been here for a while! Sorry about that I have had some technical issues... Okay well in-fact I upgraded my software. Maya is now 2015 model and Adobe suite is now CC!! had a few issues though. I found after the upgrades my SSD was FULL... so I bought a new SSD purely for software. Anyway, what else have I been up to? Well while I have been waiting for 1.9 of Quixel so I can finish my Normals I have began working on a new model! I have been working on something a little different, a 1932 Audi Auto Union Type C Grand Prix race car. I didn't want to fall out of practice modelling while I was waiting for this update, so I got working on this beauty!! I have been working on the base model for quite a while! as even though I thought the vehicle would be quite simple, getting the topology to flow correctly has been the challenge when it has come to the main chassis. Take a look at the real thing below to get a bit of an idea! It has been a bit of a struggle but a learning curve at the same time. and I am happy with the base which I have produced so far. My plan for this is to create the base then create the normals to produce the final look. and hopefully by the time I have finished this, I can get back to work on my environment, so that I can get that in my portfolio too. Right so enough talk, here is my base so far! Ok, this is my very early attempt. I have used curves and planes to quickly create shapes and make sure that I have the proportions correct. although I as you can see in this image I have also looked at blocking out large sections, but I soon gave up this idea, as it was not viable for the quality that I am aiming for. I found extruding along curves to work best. Now this is where I have gotten with the vehicle now.
