Today is the day, I have finally done it. Everything is going to change, I have a plan, but do I have what it takes?
This site is for myself, potential employers and anyone else who wants to come with me on this journey of creating my newest portfolio. So I began my design journey wanting to go into games design... Not 3D. Odd really in know, but a long story cut short I discovered my talents for 3D, but not only a talent, I found my love for modelling. I just find it irresistible, its gratifying and well I feel like I accomplish something after I finish.
But why has it taken me so long to finally take the steps necessary to try and land a job as a 3D artist. Well number one is I do not have a strong enough portfolio to land me a job, after all its work that was completed whilst doing what seems like 40 other projects at the same time. The second is motivation, I landed a job working at games company in the QA department just after my games course finished and well I felt like I was treated like garbage the guys in charge on my shift really put me down, It got to the point where I didnt want to get out of bed in the morning, and well I just stopped caring for the job I was doing. I was glad to get out of there, but at the same time quite upset, since I no longer had a job at a company which I felt would really help me in my career.
Well after my contract run dry with that company, I set up my own company, in Internet marketing, a bit of a stones throw away from Games Design, but I wanted to make money, fast. After about a year of trying, I landed a job at Sony, again at a QA department, but at least I was treated with respect and dignity. To be honest It was a great place to work. I met some fantastic people. But alas my contract has run dry with this company too, but while I was there It had rekindled my love for modeling and this is why I am here today, Now I have the time to really push this boat out strong and with passion by my side, I will land a Job as a 3D artist soon!
