Well unfortunately I have not been working on my portfolio, Instead I have been job hunting and working with DooDem Studios I am the 3D directer after all! I need to catch up with the modeling there. I would love to post what I am working on but it is under wraps, Its classified you know :P but it is coming along really well. I have new modelling techniques which allows me to build up the models really quickly and they are nice and detailed I have spent 3-4 hours and I already have a near complete naked model. This is all thanks to Zbrush.
Yeah not get me started on the poly count though. I know it isn't exactly built for game engines but with the latest Z4R6 you can now create custom low topology in the matter minutes, and the detail is projected on with the use of maps, Exactly how it should be. After research, and watching lots of videos I have found that building the high poly first is a little easier as you can see where topology needs to be, instead of trying to put in details on a low poly model and realizing it just doesn't look that great.
Anyway back to the job hunting, I found a place in Manchester, it seemed quite hopeful, a I am really holding out for this as I need something good coming my way, Its a Quality Assurance Engineering position, similar to what I have done, but instead of games, its Special FX, which I think would be quite amazing, and whats more, its PERMANENT! and maybe If I keep at it, Keep modeling building my exquisite portfolio, I could land a career in the 3D studio, YOU WILL SEE MY NAME IN THE BIG SCREEN YET :)
Oh yeah I only want perfection. Its my weakness. its terrible.
I guess that's the hardship of being an artist.
